LEAP engine: adaptive solutions to keep you off the ground

A solid expertise

We at AFI KLM E&M have an extensive know-how on maintenance operations with a large portfolio of engines including CFM56, GE90, GEnx, and LEAP*. Choosing AFI KLM E&M means relying on one of the most experienced LEAP maintenance providers. We been repairing LEAP engines for 6 years now and have access to a wider range of repairs and full expertise support from the OEM. We have signed a CFM Branded Service Agreement (CBSA) for LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines. Under the terms of this license, we will provide the full scope of LEAP Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) services for operators worldwide.

*LEAP are trademarks of CFM International, a 50/50 joint company between GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines, and AFI-KLM EM is an authorized LEAP Service Provider.

Availability and capacity

As the world’s largest independent engine MRO service provider, we industrialize the LEAP at state-of-the-art facilities in Paris & Amsterdam, giving them both the capacity and the flexibility to answer the needs of this rapidly growing competitive market. We provide a wide range of LEAP support, from inspection, Quick Turns (including hot section) and hospital chain, to shop visits. light engine maintenance, LRU (Line Replaceable Unit) support or training courses.

With over 7,500 LEAP-powered aircraft sold to date, demand for MRO services on LEAP will grow rapidly in the coming years to become the world’s largest single engine MRO market.

Nacelles support

We can’t imagine a well-maintained LEAP engine without its nacelles well-supported. Under the CBSA license agreement signed with the OEM, we are able to provide LEAP nacelle support based on our extensive experience on new platforms industrialization and our long background on aerostructures maintenance.

Looking ahead

Our LEAP team is continuously improving its skills with the target to develop Overhaul capabilities covering the entire life cycle of the engine. This is an important factor for this still-young engine, which will potentially see many further improvements and innovations.

We are one of the first suppliers of MRO services to be able to assist LEAP operators worldwide in carrying out the on-wing/on-site work. As an Airline-MRO, we have provided support for initial operations for new engines on many occasions for our parent and third-party client airlines. As such, we have developed a comprehensive expertise for on-wing/on-site work, as well as building up skilled, experienced teams. Our extensive global line maintenance network means we can work very closely for airlines operating the LEAP engine anywhere in the world.
