The MRO Lab
Advancing military aircraft maintenance
Our dedicated military products teams are actively involved in The MRO Lab, an innovation program run by AFI KLM E&M throughout its network of sites and subsidiaries. Within this framework, we regularly develop new processes, tools and repairs to optimize our support services and integrate the latest advances in digital solutions, as well as next-gen carbon and composite materials. We also contribute to inventing the future of maintenance by testing and industrializing cutting-edge technologies: artificial intelligence, augmented reality, 3D printing, robotics and more.
- AFI KLM E&M is a stakeholder in NATO's MIDS program, which aims to upgrade inter-allied communications systems.
- The French Air Force selected AFI KLM E&M to perform a complete cockpit renovation on its fleet of E-3F AWACS. One notable aspect of this contract is the provision of a high-tech Full Flight Simulator designed by our partner, Exail, so that crews can be trained without leaving their home soil.
